What is Oral Fluid Toxicology?

Oral fluid toxicology is the process of testing saliva for legal and illegal substances and their metabolites. Oral fluid is excreted from the parotid, submaxillary, and sublingual glands in the mouth. This form of drug screening is the least invasive form of testing. It requires just a simple mouth swab for analysis. Medical professionals prefer to use oral fluid drug testing to evaluate recent drug use in patients.

How does Oral Fluid Toxicology work?

Oral fluid is gathered using a collection device (typically a swab) and sent to Concord’s Laboratory to be evaluated using cutting-edge technology for initial testing. Our methods allow laboratories to detect recent drug use that urine toxicology alone may miss. If a positive result is detected, our laboratory will perform a confirmation screening using more accurate methods.

An Alternative Solution When A Client Can’t Provide A Urine Specimen

Oral fluid testing provides a solution for early detection drug screening by providers with great accuracy as it is difficult to cheat or falsify an oral fluid test. The specimen is processed quickly allowing little opportunity for the tampering of samples. The swabbing procedure for collection expedites the testing process making it quick and easy to do anywhere for convenience.

Reference Partnership Options Available

Often times, physicians and hospitals would like to offer testing & toxicology services through their facility but don’t want the headache of managing equipment or overhead costs associated with running a laboratory internally. To solve this issue, a physician or hospital can set up a reference laboratory on-location by partnering with Concord Life Sciences to contract out all of their testing needs. By partnering with us, a reference lab can effectively offer our entire portfolio of testing services to its patients.

Generate Additional Revenue By Expanding Your Test Menu

Our reference service allows on-premise labs to offer a larger variety of testing. We work behind the scenes as a silent partner with you exclusively and do not communicate with your customers unless requested to do so by you.
